JUNE 28, 2023, Kansas City, MO: Former FBI analyst Kendra Kingsbury to 46 months in prison for stealing documents related to FBI counterterrorism investigations of violent jihadists, communicated by phone with active terrorism investigation targets, and running database searches on counterterrorism cases to which she was not assigned. Kingsbury was employed as an FBI analyst in the Kansas City FBI office since 2011 but her contact with terrorist groups begin in 2000.

He pleaded guilty July 8, 2019. In addition to wanting to join ISIS, Damlarkaya also provided information to ISIS supporters about the use of machetes, homemade construction of an automatic weapon and how to build and use explosive materials. June 29, 2023, Damlarkaya was sentenced to 13 years and nine months, in prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release for attempting to provide material support to Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), a designated foreign terrorist organization.

Daoud pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 16 years in prison, but a federal appeals court ruled that punishment wasn't harsh enough and ordered a new sentencing hearing.
May 11, 2023, FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio (WOIO): A 59-year-old Muslim man accused of killing his wife inside their Fairview Park home appeared in Rocky River Municipal Court Thursday morning. The judge ordered Mohammed Draz held on a $1 million bond. Draz allegedly called 911 around 10 a.m. Wednesday after the attack inside the couple’s house in the 21000 block of Westwood Ave.
June 20, 2023, Canada: Islamic Relief Canada (IRC), a steady contributor of funds to the Islamist charity, Islamic Worldwide Relief (IRW), scored a victory in its ongoing effort to protect itself and its UK-based affiliate from legitimate scrutiny and criticism. The victory comes in the form of a settlement with prominent counter-Islamists in Canada who had previously warned government officials of IRC’s support for IRW, which in turn gave money to Palestinian organizations that appeared to serve as Hamas proxies. Now, Canadians who write or talk about the problem of charitable donations being used to fund terrorism overseas could very well lose their homes because speaking about the problem is “Islamophobic.”

Mohamad Youssef Hammoud, a Lebanese national who illegally immigrated to the U.S. in 1992, was convicted in 2002 of providing material support to Hezbollah, a Lebanon-based militant group that the State Department designates a terrorist organization, among a number of other charges. Hammoud was initially sentenced to 155 years in prison, but the punishment was later vacated by the U.S. Supreme Court. He was re-sentenced to 30 years in 2011.

Thousands of young Americans have followed paths similar to the one Bridges embarked upon, but then he took a sharp turn no one expected: on Wednesday, Cole James Bridges pleaded guilty to trying to aid ISIS’ efforts to kill American soldiers.

Sierra Justice Malloy, 43, could be seen in body camera footage threatening to decapitate Evansville, Indiana, police officers. She allegedly admitted to tearing down a business' American flag, setting it on fire and replacing it with a green ISIS flag. Malloy is now charged with flag desecration, intimidation, criminal mischief and trespassing. She is being held on a $1,500 bond.

June 14, 2023, New York: A New York court sentenced a pro-Palestinian activist to 18 months in jail for an attack on a Jewish man two years ago. Waseem Awawdeh was one of five assailants who attacked Joey Borgen while he was walking to a pro-Israel rally in Manhattan in May 2021.
June 8, 2023, CAIR filed a lawsuit in the case of Yasser AbdelRahim, Sheikh Yassir Fazaga and Ali Malik, the plaintiffs in FBI v Fazaga. The FBI argues that all the plaintiffs’ claims alleging religious discrimination need to be dismissed because it has secret evidence that would exonerate the FBI if made public. Yassir Fazaga is currently a resident of Memphis, TN and is on staff at the Memphis Islamic Center and the Islamic Association of Greater Memphis.

According to the charging documents, Ventura provided multiple gift cards to an individual he believed was an ISIS supporter, with the intention that the gift cards be sold on the dark web for a little less than face value and resulting profits be used to support ISIS. Ventura allegedly stated that he wanted the proceeds to go to ISIS “for war on kuffar,” (disbelievers). In total, it is alleged that between January and May 2023, Ventura donated $705 intended to support ISIS.

Mahbub Ali, 26, of Queens faces charges of manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, assault and driving while intoxicated in the deadly Sunday night smash-up at East 21st Street and Third Avenue in Gramercy. Waseem Awawdeh, 23, was held on $10,000 bail in the Thursday attack, in which he is accused of beating Joseph Borgen, 29, with crutches and punching, kicking and pepper-spraying him. Awawdeh was charged with assault as a hate crime, gang assault, menacing, aggravated harassment as a hate crime and criminal possession of a weapon. Dervish is known for his troubled past and was even expelled and banned from the college campus earlier after several reports of him threatening staff were filed, according to The Daily Beast. He is accused of fatally stabbing 69-year-old Muhammad Idrees Kahn on Nov. 12, 2022, at the Islamic Community of Greater Killeen. Kahn, an Army veteran, was an emergency physician. Kastner was being held in the Bell County Jail in lieu of a bond of $1 million. Kastner was a convert to Islam and attended the mosque with Kahn.

February 12, 2023, Killeen, TX: A Bell County, TX grand jury indicted Raymond Cecil Kastner, 49, on a first-degree felony charge of murder. He is accused of fatally stabbing 69-year-old Muhammad Idrees Kahn on Nov. 12, 2022, at the Islamic Community of Greater Killeen. Kahn, an Army veteran, was an emergency physician. Kastner was being held in the Bell County Jail in lieu of a bond of $1 million. Kastner was a convert to Islam and attended the mosque with Kahn.
February 10, 2023, Brooklyn, New York: Kambiz Attar Kashani, 44, a dual citizen of the United States and Iran, was sentenced to 30 months in prison for conspiring to illegally export U.S. goods and technology to end users in Iran, including the Central Bank of Iran, in violation of the International Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). The Central Bank of Iran is an Iranian government agency that, according to the U.S. government, has materially supported Lebanese Hizballah and the Qods Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, both designated terrorist organizations. According to U.S. Attorney for Southern Ohio Benjamin Glassman, Almadaoji came to the U.S. from Iraq about a decade ago. He was convicted following a 9-day trial in U.S. District Court in Detroit.

The DOJ said in a statement Friday that since at least July, the three men have been “tasked with carrying out” the murder of Alinejad, “who previously has been the target of plots by the government of Iran to intimidate, harass and kidnap” her. “As recently as 2020 and 2021, Iranian intelligence officials and assets plotted to kidnap the (Alinejad) from within the United States for rendition to Iran in an effort to silence the (Alinejad’s) criticism of the regime,” the department said in a statement.
