Disingenuous RINO, McAuley of Indiana, Reneges on Candidate Pledges
GOP Action
September 2026
We previously reported that Patrick McAuley – running as a Republican against incumbent Andre Carson in Indiana’s 7th Congressional District – was worth your consideration as a candidate to support in the 2026 midterm elections.
We no longer hold that view. Quite the opposite.
After extensive negotiations, McAuley gave us certain pledges about what he would do if elected to office.
However, in late August, McAuley sought to revise his pledges, adding that he was “very firm” in his new positions.
His new positions include a pathway to citizenship and a refusal to join the House Republican Sharia-Free America Caucus.
We consider these reversals a breach of faith. Who will McAuley break faith with next? He is not to be trusted and is no longer worth supporting, in our estimation.
We are grassroots Republican activists from around the country. We’ve had enough with the Republican RINO establishment. We’re fed up.
This would be the same Republican establishment that:
We’re also fed up with candidates getting elected on our energy, then betraying us. Marco Rubio would have gone nowhere without the Tea Party, but then worked with Democrats for ‘comprehensive immigration reform’ (i.e., letting illegal aliens stay in the country) in 2013. In Virginia, Larry Nordvig was a Tea Party leader who got elected to a county council. His first vote was to raise taxes.
Enough! The grassroots is fed up and we’re organizing. Already, we’ve booted Crenshaw, Cassidy, and Cornyn from office.
Thus, we have no patience for Patrick McAuley and his attempt to renege on pledges he made to us when he thought doing so was advantageous for him. He’s everything that’s wrong with the Republican establishment – RINOs who have no principles except standing for reelection and enriching themselves. Unlike the GOP establishment, our principles don’t change.
If we let McAuley renege on his pledges, what’s to stop him from changing his positions again?
The whole purpose of extracting pledges from McAuley was to hold him to account if he changed his positions, and we’re doing that now.

This would be the same Republican establishment that:
- Dissolves entire local GOP units that go MAGA / America First in Florida
- Votes with Democrats most of the time in Idaho, with GOP legislative leaders among the worst offenders
- Plays dirty tricks to frustrate grassroots initiatives and representation in South Carolina
- Has kept the Republican Party of Virginia flat on its back accomplishing nothing for years, while maneuvering to shut out the grassroots
- Put Medicaid expansion over the top in Virginia, then turned around and trumpeted in state party mailings how ‘conservative’ the state party is
- Has kept conservative grassroots Republicans at bay in Georgia, Tennessee, California, and several other states
- Is content to let the country drift Left, slide into socialism, and be taken over by sharia supremacists
We’re also fed up with candidates getting elected on our energy, then betraying us.
