The American Society of Plastic Surgeons published a position statement recommending surgeons delay gender reassignment surgeries until a patient is 19-years-old, which earned praise from the Trump administration.
The US Supreme Court blocked California’s secret gender transition policies for children and said the law likely violated parental rights protected in the First and Fourteenth Amendments.

Congressman Bob Onder (R-MO) introduced the Chloe Cole Act of 2026 (H.R. 7651) to establish a federal law to allow individuals to sue medical providers who subjected them to sex-rejecting procedures like puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or surgical procedures as minors and suffered permanent harm. The bill also extends the statute of limitations to 25 years, ensuring victims have adequate time to seek justice once they reach adulthood and fully understand the consequences. After hospitals have been forced to discontinue “gender care” and a successful detransitioner lawsuit, 40+ legal actions have been filed challenging public school policies that require officials to conceal transgender information from parents.
