Shame! - Medical Societies Won’t Confess Error on ‘Gender-Affirming Care’ for Minors
November 2024
Liberato.US wrote to several medical societies asking how they can continue to justify transgender drugs and surgery for minors now that the American College of Pediatricians has taken such forceful action against so-called ‘gender-affirming care’ for kids.
Here is the letter, followed by the medical societies who failed to confess error:
I’m writing on behalf of Liberato.US, which publishes the news site Transgenderism on Trial.
In June of this year, the American College of Pediatricians by way of a Declaration called on your medical organization “to follow the science and their European professional colleagues and immediately stop the promotion of social affirmation, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents who experience distress over their biological sex.”
The Declaration’s co-signers “affirm that the best evidence and research suggests that children are put in serious harm by surgeries, puberty blockers, and cross-sec hormones and that these interventions do not improve the physical or mental well-being of adolescents with gender dysphoria.”
The Declaration and its co-signers, which represent over 75,000 physicians and healthcare professionals from 60 countries, may be found here.
In light of the serious harm inflicted by so-called ‘gender-affirming’ care, as well as the number of medical professionals now speaking against it, how do you justify continuing to support transgender drugs and surgery for children and adolescents?
We look forward to your response. Your response or failure to respond will be published.
Please let us hear from you by one week from the date of this letter.
Sincerely,
- Liberato.US
